Last February I attended a seminar of John Calub, the Philippines number one success coach, and he told the audience that if you see a beggar give him money because that is a sign that a very big blessing is coming to your way. Whether financial blessing, health blessing, a rewarding career or whatever blessing that is, it is really something big. That is why he challenged us that before the day ends, we should look for a beggar and give him money. We shouldn't go to bed that night without helping a beggar or giving him a money to buy food.
A week after I relate the story to my officemate and she was amazed by the story. She told me an experience she had that one time when she was about to go home from the office, there was a beggar outside the office building and she gave him a P5.00. Before going home she meet with her boyfriend and without asking him, her boyfriend gave him a P500.00. I don't know if that is just a coincidence. The next day she relate the experience she had to another officemate of ours and our officemate told us about the story of the The Alchemist.
That is the reason she downloaded the ebook copy of the The Alchemist and read it. I caught her reading the book in the office that's why I asked what is something in that book that makes her read it again because I thought she already read that book and has a hard copy of it. She told me about the story I told her and she wants to find out what's really in that book. So out of my curiosity, I asked her to forward it to me and discover it myself.
After reading the book for two days, I found out that all the books and leadership seminars I attended for how many years summed up by The Alchemist. All the things I learned from other books I read, all the teachings in the seminars I attended were all written in that book. I just wished I read this book before.
The story of the The Alchemist tell us about a boy named Santiago in his quest for his Personal Legends. The book used Personal Legend as the "dream".
The book of Paulo was full of words of wisdom. It's incredibly marvelous that I took notes of the passages I found interesting and empowering.
"Dreams are the language of God"-the Gypsie said to Santiago.
"It's the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary; only wise men are able to understand them."
"When someone sees the same people everyday, they wind up becoming part of that person's life. And then they want that person to change. If someone isn't others want them to be, the other become angry. Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own."
I also found out the world's greatest lie: "That at a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what's happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate." I knew a lot of people like this. They depend merely on fate. they think that the fate will made us or bring them where they wants to be. Their core values is "We can not predict the future and what's going to happen to us attitude". That is why they let the fate control them. Yes it is correct that we can not predict the future nor what will happen to us in the future but one thing is for sure. We can control of what is happening to us today that affects what we are going to be in the future. A Personal Legend is what you have always wanted to accomplish. Everyone, when they were young, knew what their Personal Legend is. At some point in their lives, everything is clear and everything is possible. They are not afraid to dream, and to yearn for everything they would like to see happen to them in their lives. But as time passes, a mysterious force begins to convince them that it will be impossible for them to realize their Personal Legends. That force is the "negative force".
The mysterious force appears to be negative, but actually shows you how to realize your Personal legend. It prepares your spirit and your will, because there is one great truth on this planet: Whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really want something, it's because desire originated in the soul of the universe. It's your mission on earth.

I think the movie of the book is on the making and will be distributed next year. Gonna watch out for it.
